I just learned of Dickey's passing and I'm heartbroken. Dickey and I were roommates our senior year at GWU. I have so many fond memories of that time. Every time I hear a stones song I think of Dickey. My sincere condolences to his entire family.

The other day I visited my new dentist here in Pennsylvania where I have lived for about a dozen years, since leaving my beloved New York. Dr. Brancaccio was my dentist in Bay Ridge for all the years I lived there. I traveled over 150 miles since leaving just to see him for care because he was a great dentist, a great friend and a dear person whom I trusted. We shared the same birthday and got a kick out of wishing each other a happy birthday. I don't know why that was such fun for us except that every conversation with him was fun, even issues on the serious side of life had some irony that we could laugh at. That GREAT booming laugh that I still hear! He enjoyed all kinds of humor and was a very, very great human being with a huge heart. He was loved. I was so lucky to know him. I pray for the dear family that he loved so much and know that he is near them always, because love worked that way with him. They were always lovingly on his mind and he was so proud of them all.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Brancaccio's passing. I got some dental treatment from him, and he did a good job. Both he and his father had hired my firm, Bay Ridge Roofing, to take care of their roofing needs. My condolences to his friends and family.

We just heard of Dr. Brancaccio's passing, we moved to South Carolina in October, just after he finished a crown on each of us. Richard was our dentist for many years. We always enjoyed our visits, the discussion was always cheerful and the work was excellent. He was one of the many things we miss about Brooklyn and were very sorry to learn of his passing today. My children and I were long time patients if Dr. B. We stopped going to him about 2 years ago because I love in Marine Park and it was hard to get there after work. Our hours just didn't jive. He LOVED his classic rock. Always talked about which bands we saw, who was coming to town , etc. I didn't want to leave the practice but I needed to find someone closer so my daughter could go in her own after school, etc.He always talked about his family. I was a new patient and feel so bad, I really liked him as a person so sad, he was so down to earth and knowledgable. Just saw him a week earlier remember him telling me all about his parents how they moved to L.I. and he kept their house here in Brooklyn. My dad had called as I just sat in the chair, he said that's okay talk to your dad. Very sweet man. He joked after my cleaning here's a lolipop gave me a toothbrush. He was highly recommended by the Sciametta's long time patients of his and his dad's. May he rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to the family.

Dear Ginny, Richard, Gina and the entire Brancaccio Family: so sorry for your tragic loss with Dickey's untimely passing. I remember Dickey riding motor bikes on 83d street in the 1960's. I remember visiting him at NYU with my cousins Ronnie & George, and listening to music.The Bible teaches us to believe in Christ and the life everlasting(John 3:16). I only knew him as Dr. Brancaccio, my wonderful dentist for over twenty years, with whom I shared a birthday. How else could I have put the words "wonderful" and "dentist" in the same sentence, except for the fact that he was such a warm and vibrant soul, so dear a man, so family-loving, so ready to heal a hurt even if it wasn't in my teeth. I can still hear his booming, open laugh as though he were right here, and I will always think of him as here because we need to keep the people who are lovers of humanity, gentle sincerity and kindness, the best people we will ever know, always close to our hearts. Long after I left my beloved New York, I drove the 125 miles to see my dentist, Dr. B. and was ready to schedule another visit when I heard the news. My heart goes out to the family he loved so much and was so proud of. They were the most important thing in his life and he spoke about them with such love. He was a solid gold human being of the best kind. I miss him.

Richard was a kind, thoughtful and caring man. He was a wonderful father to little Richard and Gina, and a great husband to Ginny. I always considered him a friend. I will treasure the memories of our evenings together around the family table with great love, good conversation and wonderful food. I will miss his great big smile and passion for life.
